We Are Hiring! A Spray Finisher. (UPDATE: POSITION FILLED)
Up North Cabinet Makers design, manufacture and install kitchens and fitted furniture for a domestic market in South Yorkshire and the surrounding areas. Everything we make is to a high standard with an importance placed on sustainability at every stage of the business. Projects can include kitchens, wardrobes, bookshelves, alcove cabinets, entertainment units, studies, free-standing furniture and more. We cater to a broad range of budgets, styles, and tastes. Everything is designed and made from our workshop in Sheffield, where we have a range of tools and equipment. There is a dedicated spray booth where everything is spray finished using water-based finishes to an exceptional standard.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our small but growing business and play a key role in its progression, while developing your own skills and expertise along the way. You will be part of a small team and work directly with, and learn from, the owner of the business. We are looking for someone with a passion for finishing beautiful furniture with a consideration of its environmental impact.
What would you be doing?
Typical day-to-day activities will include:
· Prepping and spray finishing of furniture
· Assisting with the development of workshop processes
· Keeping the spraybooth and workshop tidy and clean
· Keeping customer records updated on Trello, our Customer Relationship Management system, and embracing the other various technologies we use.
What type of person are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will:
· Have hands-on experience with spray painting (this does not need to be work experience, it could be from your course or a hobby)
· Have excellent attention to detail
· Be a confident communicator and able to liaise with customers face to face and over the phone
· Be motivated and enthusiastic to learn and progress
· Be a problem solver
· Be able to lift and carry, sometimes heavy, materials in the workshop
· Be flexible to work additional hours at evenings or weekends during very busy periods
The following would be a bonus, but don’t be put off if not:
· A relevant degree or qualification
